Hi, everyone. Wanna know how to kill the ads? I'll tell ya.
Go to this link:
www.beatnikpad.com/archives...dblocking
BUT...you need to also make the following changes:
1) For Camino users, the path is actually
/Users/[yourname]/Library/Application Support/Camino/chrome
and 2) I added the following block of text to the userContent.css file:
/* Tribe ads */
DIV[CLASS="OAS"] { display: none ! important }
So...download the file, make the change above, follow the directions for your browser of choice (including quitting/relaunching if necessary)—works with Safari, Camino (with the above noted modification in file path), Firefox, Mozilla, OmniWeb, and likely Netscape.
Voila! An ad-free tribe existence.

Re: Mac users: How to KILL THE TRIBE ADS!
Wed, August 24, 2005 - 9:39 AMI removed mine by just using adblock in firefox. Does your method also get rid of the "ADVERTISEMENT" text and the big white space that the removed ads leave behind? -

Mon, August 29, 2005 - 7:47 AMSweet! I am a Windoze user (this week... that may change) using Kerio Personal Firewall which blocks the ads but this fix removes the ad and the white space. Nice!
