What settings can I adjust, or addons can I get, to stop news.google.com from updating automatically? I can't tell you the number of times I have been looking at the page, just starting to move the mouse to an interesting story when the whole damned page refreshes. I know where the refresh button is and would prefer to be the one driving.
Suggestions?
Thanks muchly.

Re: Web geek help.
Wed, March 7, 2007 - 4:13 PMthe feature you are looking for is "disable meta refresh"... meta refresh is a tag that is in the HTML from the server. the browser parses this and sets a timer (900seconds on google), and then reissues a get. I don't know how to turn it off in firefox/mozilla, but I think IE has a preference setting where you can turn it off. it's probably the only feature in IE that is actually user friendly... -

Wed, March 7, 2007 - 5:21 PMThank for the correct terminology. A quick Google search provided some good info.
theubergeeks.net/2007/02/1...a-refresh/ <--FF3 will have the IE feature
addons.mozilla.org/extensio...einfo.php <--RefreshBlocker addon for FF
Thanks so much! -
