I love the fun, the laughs, the ability to make pop reference jokes and know they will get it. Oh and they are usually fun in bed too :)

I dig a woman who can think fast and talk smart. I like when she can throw a big word at me and look inocent when I wonder what 'that' word meant.

I think we all like challenges and equals. I think we need to get knocked off our high mountain once in a while. Someone who won't roll their eyes, when you ask 'want to watch "dirty pair?"' or 'I bet I can kick your ass at Halo!'

    I want a playmate :)
  • Where do I start?

Some of the things I love about geeky grrls...

    1) The ability to think outside the box when it seems like it's becoming more popular to be a mental lemming

    2) Lust for all things sci-fi (Red Dwarf anybody?)

    3) The ability to introduce odd cultural references no matter what the conversation topic.

    4) Lovingly describing the joys of coding and comic books.

I could go on and on....I just live for geeky girls :)
    • Oh, Oh, OH!!

My hubby is a good man! I just got Red Dwarf Seasons 1-6 on DVD for mother's day. Woot!!

Of course they are the remastered versions (sigh), but I do have all the originals on VHS taped from PBS about a decade ago if I ever need to watch them in their un-remastered form :)

And another belly dancer over here in the geek girls tribe?
      Ditto on the woot!!

theyre usually really smart, opinionated, funny, they generally appreciate british humor, which is big for me since i grew up there, they dont wear too much make-up, they like reading, computers, sometimes RPG-type stuff, they understand men who live outside the societal box a little better, they like interesting music, and have independant streaks. I know theres one looking for me somewhere, eventually i will bump into her and the evenings will be all purple sunsets and thai food.

What is it about Geek girls that I love?

That I can talk to them out w/out "dumbing down" for them to be able to understand me.

The Glint of mischieviousness/intelligence in their eyes

The ability to think outside the box. To be able to see a resolution to something that I may miss.

That they laugh at the absurd and usually aren't "PC"

That they understand that I wont stop till I have resolved what I am working on, or give suggestions to try, instead of "You never see me when your working"

They are in a higher class of eroticism and sensuality. They are willing to try new things , or suggest things to try to keep the relationship fresh. They understand my desires better and are willing to participate in them or suggest ways to enchance them (together) . They usually are extraordinary in bed.

They will work on projects with me.

I am sure I could go on but these are what struck me first.

Often when my self esteem runs out (its always low anyway) I remember the days my beloved loves me for.

..when we wake up late because he spent all night playing the D&D campaign I run... I paint my orks while he reads a bit then we play some video games togeather... we have a long conversation about character creation systems and how best to munchkin out your guy... we eat junk food while watching old fantasy flicks... make love on the sofa with some Hentai playing... then I read him to sleep with the latest harry potter book.... only to wake up at 5 the next morning to pack up our card and board games and head off to wait in line for Lord of the Rings trilogy tuseday.

Isn't that really just the way life should be....
....I am the lucky one too though.

.... I also have been told he likes going to conventions with me... having vampire players try to speak to me as if I am in character and me... having to explain to them there has been some mistake and I am late to my Mad Hacks campaign...

(.... he likes too I can impress his friends with the number of obscure role playing systems I can... not only list... but have played)

That you can have a celebration of her character getting its epic weapon.

That celebration is thai take out and a marathon session of game play.

You don't have to think about what to buy her for a gift, cause if you like it she'll like it.

You can have a heated debate over the latest game patch.

A romantic weekend can be a trip to a convention, building a new gaming server, or a movie marathon.

Someone swap off with while waiting in line for tickets for the next great scifi movie.

Getting home late from work and getting yelled at cause you almost missed the raid.

Costumes are always better in pairs.

they activeily map cognative synapse neurotransmissions in syncronicity with your's, in realtime. Also, during a multi-tasking function, they assimilate the playing field, log the calculitic data, respond with true wisdom, w/ 80%opacity mystery encryption. If we can link to the unsecure 20%, there's a chance at impressing said 95th% + female into whatever hive -type compatability allows for. Oh yes, tangent- sub routines are buffered for rebuke during cycle ;ags. Also, they are as open source as our OS choices, and can amend, finish, create, and compile any source data relevant.

Or, maybe this is not the methodology of my longing.

Unicode: They have their own identity that is deeper than the shallows of the dna sequences.

The big thing, absolutely, is that whatever form their geekiness takes, it leads to something that they are totally into, totally excited about.... Geekgirls all know how to take pleasure in things, even silly things, and that brings a positiveness to a life and a relationship.

My specific geek-fetishes start with the fairly standard: girls who are into fantasy writing, video games, comic books, RPGs, anime, and venture into the more unusual: girls in cute hats, girls who have a thing for old cars, etc. etc.

Ultimately, though, it doesn't matter *what* their poison is, as long as they have a proper geeky focus. Example: I'm not into dinosaurs at ALL, but nothing would drive me wild like going to a dinosaur museum with a girl who thinks that's the most exciting date ever. The way her eyes light up, the way freakish facts about iguanodons roll off her tongue, the way she CARES about information, experiences... that spark of humour and natural curiosity is the sexiest thing a woman can have about her.

Not to mention the kind of night you have when you get home, as a "thank you" for taking her to see all those crazy dinos...

my guy loves that I'll hop out of bed at 3am with the solution to the program I'm working on and spend an hour or two coding, then come back and snuggle up to sleep.

and that I get totally entranced by some cool new article or book on math or cognitive science or language or....

and that I expect to understand what he's talking about and don't mind asking him to explain something when I don't, and that we're not afraid of correcting each other when one of us is wrong about something. ;-)

What about geek girls do I love, I'd have to say the ability to laugh at themselves and others, like me lol. A good head on their shoulders and still having that sexy appeal too. Oh and the glasses, just something cute and sexy about it all at the same time.

I love the lack of condescension for the things that I love; and the shared condemnation of the stupid and the average.

I love girls who want to make out after watching cartoons.

I love girls who dress like they're still in high school.

I love girls who lok good in glasses, because they're smart enough to not be front'n

I love girls; but I really love geek girls. Bald ones especially.

It was so funny when I first was dating my girlfriend. She was ridiculously smart, and extremely fun. I loved the way she was able to keep up with every weird portion of our conversation. But the best part was when she started quoting the original ‘Planet of the Apes’.

        I was sold after that.
